Let's see ... where do I start?
We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We live in the same ward Pablo grew up in and we also live in the same house he grew up in. Pablo is the varsity scout leader and I am the secretary in the primary. We both love our callings and serving in our church.
Pablo and I met in 1993 about two months after he came home from serving his mission in Honolulu, Hawaii. We met at one of our church's Institute of Religion at the college I was attending. We dated for almost a year and we were engaged on my mom's birthday in November of 1994. Approximately six weeks later we were married in the Los Angeles temple in December. We have been married for over 16 years and it's has been a wonderful and blessed adventure.
Our first son came along in 1997. We call him Serious Man because he tends to be very quiet and shy. He usually has a serious look on his face. This all changes as soon as you get to know him or make him laugh. Pablo and I are very jealous of the awesome hair he has. Darn kid, took it all from me when he was born.
Our second son joined our family in 2000. His nickname is Silly, well cause he just is. He's very, very active and has been diagnosed with ADHD, but this does not determine who he is. He's a very sweet boy and often comes up to us to give us a hug just because he wants to. He's also very intelligent and is a voracious reader. He reminds me of how much I used to read when I was his age.
Our third son was welcomed into our family in 2002 the day after Pablo's birthday and also the day our oldest had his first soccer practice. He was good enough to be born early in the day so Pablo could take Serious Man to soccer practice. We call him Little Man and he's a talker! He can talk your ear off and his expressions when he talks are priceless.
Our youngest took a longer time to come to our family. Mostly because Pablo and I were indecisive. He finally came into our family in 2007. He is usually a very happy boy, hence his name is Happy. He is a funny little boy. He loves his brothers and enjoys their company. He is also a constant companion to both of his grandfathers when they are around. He also calls his grandfathers, Papi.
I'm often asked if we were trying to have a girl because we have four boys. The truth is no. Am I sad to not a daughter? Truth is no, I'm actually glad I don't have a girl in our family. I love being the only girl because I'm very spoiled. Also, I don't think my personality would be suited to having daughters, my personality is better suited for being a mom to boys.
